TROPHIES WON AT THE 2009 SHOW

The ‘D F & J Kyle’ Trophy rotates and this year (2009) went to Thomas Wright for the Suprmeme Champion in the Sheep section along with the 'Robert L Orr' and the Wilson trophy for the Champion Dorset.

J Aiken walked away with the ‘Fenagh’ Trophy for the Champion Border-Leicester, the 'McCoy' for the Best One-shear Border Leicester Ewe and the ‘Colville’ Trophy for the Best Shearling Border-Leicester Ram.

Samuel Agnew was awarded the ‘Dale’ Trophy for the Best Border-Leicester Lamb and William Tait won the ‘Robinson’ Rosebowl for the Champion Suffolk.

The ‘Countryman’s Inn’ & 'Ian Stuart' Trophies were given to Sean Doyle for the Champion Hampshire Down and Gary Hanna walked away with the ‘Currie’ Trophy for the Champion Rouge de L’Ouest.

Diane Christie was awarded the ‘AJC Lamont’ trophy for the Champion Charollais and the ‘Joe Kelly’ Trophy went to Michelle Wright for the Best Blue-Faced Leicester.

Rodger Crawford carried home a lot of silverware to polish, namely the ‘Cavendish-Clarke’ Trophy for the Best Exhibit in the Blackface Perth Type Section, the ‘Blackface’ Trophy for the Best Blackface Perth Type Ram any age, the ‘Doravil’ Trophy for the Best Blackface Perth Type Shearling Ram and the 'John Crawford’ Trophy for the Best 2 year old Blackface Perth Type Ram.

The ‘Aaron Armstrong’ Trophy went to Ben Crawford for the Champion Black Face Lanark type sheep and the ‘Automart’ Trophy went to Alastair Gault for the Champion Texel.  

Mark and Samantha Robinson
won the ‘Prudential Assurance’ Trophy for the Champion Ile De France and Sam Adams received the ‘Dinsmore’ Trophy for the Best Blackface Perth Type Female in the Show, any age.

The ‘Portequip’ Trophy for the Champion Irish-bred North Country Cheviot went to Tommy McKean and Desmond Robinson Jnr received the ‘John Kelly’ Trophy for the Best North Country Cheviot Sheep of opposite sex to the Champion.

Elizabeth McAllister walked away with the ‘I S McWhirter Animal Feeds’ Trophy for the Champion Beltex Sheep and James Mills won the ‘John McBurney’ Trophy for the Best Greyface Ewe.

The ‘Liam Campbell’ Trophy was won by Stephen Girvan for the Champion Zwartble sheep and a brand new trophy for 2009, the ‘William Moody’ Trophy for the Champion Kerryhill sheep went to James McClintock.

In the GOAT section Galbraith Bros received the ‘Dalconisk’ Trophy for the Best Milk Goat in the show.

Congratulations are extended to all the winners but thanks go to all the competitors who took part and helped to make a wonderful display of sheep and goats.
